Timmermans Oude Gueuze is created by combining young and old lambic, which continue to mature together in the bottle. Through this process of spontaneous fermentation and blending, the beer acquires its distinctive tartness, refined fruity accents, and a dry finish.

The taste of Timmermans Oude Gueuze is both complex and balanced. The beer offers vibrant acidity, subtle hints of fruits such as apple and citrus, and a pleasant, light woody note derived from maturation in oak barrels.

John Martin is a Belgian company active in the beverage industry and beer brewing. It was founded in 1909 in Antwerp by John Martin (1886-1966), who came from Newmarket in England. The company is currently led by his grandson, Anthony Martin.

The company gained its reputation through the import of British and Irish beers such as Guinness, Bass, and Gordon Scotch Ale, often in a special version for the Belgian market. Additionally, it started producing soft drinks, including Schweppes (under license), in Genval. The château by the lake in Genval, where the soft drink factory operated until 1981, was later transformed into the luxurious five-star hotel Château du Lac. This hotel became the foundation of the Martin's Hotels group, managed by John C. Martin, another grandson of the founder.

In 1993, the company expanded its operations by acquiring the lambic brewery Timmermans in Itterbeek.
