St Louis Kriek is a fruit beer brewed by Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck, known for its unique flavor and aroma derived from the addition of cherries, also called "krieken."

This beer stands out with its clear, deep red color and its alluring sweet cherry aroma. The flavor is characterized by a perfect balance of sweet and sour, where the natural sweetness of the cherries harmonizes beautifully with a subtle acidity.

Amandus Vanhonsebrouck is the man who laid the foundation for the brewery's story. As mayor, he managed a farm with a dairy, a brewery, and a distillery. After his sudden passing in 1865, his son Emile, one of ten children, took over these responsibilities.

A strained relationship between his wife Louise and her mother-in-law prompted Emile and Louise to establish their own brewery elsewhere. In 1900, they founded Brewery Sint Jozef on a small farm in Ingelmunster. Following the devastation of World War I, their sons Paul and Ernest managed to keep the brewery running. They expanded the business, including the addition of a storage facility with fifteen foeders, each holding between 180 and 250 hectoliters.

The innovations were accompanied by the launch of a soured old brown beer, which quickly gained popularity.
