Kriek Brut Xtra is an ode to Rosa Merckx, Belgium's first female brewmaster. This limited Liefmans blend combines Kriek Brut with the red-brown Goudenband. The oldest part, from 2014, matured in Pinot Noir barrels, mixed with younger cherry beers (2018-2020) and a beer matured in bourbon barrels. Goudenband, matured for two years in a Cherry barrel, adds depth. The result is a unique beer in which fresh, sour cherry flavors harmonize with warm wood and vanilla notes.
