Probably best known for its beer Abt 12, compared often with the Westvleteren 12. And if you take a moment in history, you suddenly know why. Just after the Second World War, the Trappists of Westvleteren were looking for someone who could successfully commercialize their concoctions. She eventually ended up at a cheese factory which was thus transformed into the current St Bernard brewery. However, in 1992 this license expired and the St Bernard was launched.
