Brown / Double beer
First I would like to clarify that brown or dark beers double just all the same. It's just whatever name one chooses. In this case, I chose the dark beers. The brewers have preferences here. Thus we speak of Leffe Brown, Brugse Zot double and Dark Castle, although these three beers are very similar.
What else can you tell me about dark beers
In general we can say that this category is especially popular during the fall and winter. This is firmly confirmed by the bokbieren, quadrupels and Christmas beers consumed avidly during those months. Again, this category is characterized by its color and therefore it is not easy to find similarities here. As an ordinary dark beer may have an alcohol content of 6% or even 12%. In the latter case, we are usually talking about a quadruple. In addition, the bokbieren and most Christmas beers also fall under this category.
The taste is more diverse. Going from dark beer with soft caramel buttons or the sharper beer with roasted malt flavor. The latter is soon linked them with coffee and stout beers. Although stout yet more black in color, it can for alot also be included in this category.
